I made homemade planting strips earlier and so the planting of evenly spaced carrots was pretty easy. I am following <a href=\"http:\/\/patwelsh.com\/wpmu\/blog\/vegetables-fruits\/germinating-carrots\/\">Pat Welsh&#8217;s<\/a> planting advice and watering with boiling water right after planting to scarify the seeds. This is the first time I have tried her method. She claims to have had seeds sprout within three days.<\/p>\n<p>As a side note, I planted pole beans last Saturday and they are now up. I had to plant them in the house as an in ground planting is not working so well.
