Carrots have been planted where the beets were growing. I made homemade planting strips earlier and so the planting of evenly spaced carrots was pretty easy. I am following Pat Welsh’s planting advice and watering with boiling water right after planting to scarify the seeds. This is the first time I have tried her method. She claims to have had seeds sprout within three days.
As a side note, I planted pole beans last Saturday and they are now up. I had to plant them in the house as an in ground planting is not working so well. Is something eating the beans before they can sprout?
