Sunday night dinner

starts with dessert…Cherry sorbet

The ice cream maker has been stored on top of the refrigerator instead of inside it for quite a few months now. As the weather is warming up and cherries are making their appearance at the farmers’ market right now, I decided to put it back in the freezer.

The cherry sorbet I made was based on the one from the Animal Vegetable Miracle website. I reduced the sugar and added a little bit of allspice due to the book, The Herbal Kitchen, by Kami McBride. I just love the color.

This dessert followed a Sunday night dinner of hamburgers, grilled corn, and fruit. We served the burgers with sparkling wine just for fun!
